These cupcakes are one of a kind. Indulge in a mixture of chocolate, almonds, peanuts and most importantly, Nutella!
What you’ll need:
- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 Tbsp. chocolate hazelnut spread, divided
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips, divided
- 1 container chocolate frosting
- 3 Tbsp. almonds
- 3 Tbsp. peanuts
- 3 Tbsp. white chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. cocoa powder
Preheat oven to 350º.
In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, eggs and vanilla. Place hazelnut spread in a bowl and microwave for 15 seconds. Drop 2 tablespoons into the prepared cake mix and gently stir.
Fill muffin tins lined with cupcake liners 3/4 full with batter. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over top. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove the cupcakes from the oven, allow them to cool. Transfer cooled cupcakes to a wire rack.
In a small bowl, stir together frosting and remaining hazelnut spread; spread overtop cupcakes. Place the rest of the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, almonds, peanuts and cocoa powder in a food processor. Process until it’s a crumb texture. Sprinkle mixture over the frosting.
