For kids (and adults), Halloween is one of the best nights of the year. Let’s be honest—who doesn’t love dressing up in costume and exploring through the neighborhood for candy?

In order for the trick-or-treating experience to be fun, everyone needs to stay safe. Parents, sit down with your kids and go over some of these safety tips to make sure they have a fun, safe and happy Halloween:

  • Plan a trick-or-treat route in advance.
  • Always go out trick-or-treating in groups or accompanied by a responsible adult—never alone.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Make sure your child carries a flashlight, glow stick or has reflective tape on their costume to make them more visible to cars.
  • Walk. Don’t run.
  • Stay on sidewalks, and obey all traffic and pedestrian regulations.
  • Be cautious of animals and strangers.
  • Stay in familiar neighborhoods.
  • Approach only houses that are lit.
  • Accept treats only in doorways, never inside houses.
  • Only accept treats that are wrapped and securely sealed.
  • Don’t eat any treats before an adult inspects them at home.

Most importantly, have fun! Halloween only comes once a year!

Have a fun and safe Halloween, everyone! From, Sparkle Market
