The 4th of July may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to put away your patriotic spirit. With the Olympics starting this week, what’s a better way to support Team USA than sporting red, white and blue?

Don’t limit yourself to USA-themed clothes and American flags. Since it’s the peak of summer, there are tons of healthy fruits and vegetables that are in-season and perfect for an Olympic-themed cookout. Check out the different ways to enjoy red, white and blue produce that will keep you feeling (and looking) like an Olympic athlete:

  • Red
    • Raspberries are great in desserts—especially because they help you maintain a healthy weight! Try making raspberry tarts or crisps or preserving them in jam.
    • Tomatoes are a staple in many summer recipes, especially when they’re fresh. Try something light and summery like a grilled tomato gazpacho or a tomato tart.
  • White
    • White Peaches, according to Saveur magazine, are known as “one of summer’s great sensual delights.” So indulge in them now while they’re at their peak! They are delicious fresh, sliced in a fruit salad or on top of yogurt.
    • Garlic is great for heart health, and a healthy heart gets you one step closer to winning that gold medal! While many don’t care for the intense flavor, try roasting garlic on the grill to mellow the taste.
  • Blue
    • Whether on their own, in baked goods (muffins, scones, pies), in smoothies or even tossed in a glass of lemonade, eat tons of blueberries—they’re antioxidant allstars and have endless health benefits.
    • Are you a vegetarian? Eggplant is a good meat alternative and really tasty when cooked on the grill. It’s recommended to eat eggplant with the skin on because it contains the most valuable nutrient.
